Do I have to be sober to enjoy Good News Bar?

Regardless of your relationship with alcohol, we offer a welcoming, safe space for our community to unwind with a clear mind in a positive, alcohol-free environment. Some are sober curious while others follow a strict program, and our mission is to be inclusive to all.

Do you offer alcohol-free & non-alcoholic drinks?

Yes, our menu is curated to be as inclusive as possible. We offer a variety of functional and free-spirited cocktails that are alcohol-free (0.0% ABV) & others that are non-alcoholic (less than 0.5% ABV).

What are functional cocktails?

Our menu features a functional cocktail section crafted with brain & body-supporting adaptogens, nootropics, nervines, kava & hemp-derived CBD. Most functional cocktails are crafted with botanical spirits that are 0.0% ABV.

What are free-spirited cocktails?

Free-spirited cocktails contain less than 0.5% ABV and are inspired by traditional cocktails but with a non-alcoholic spirit replacement and our very own signature twist. We have designed our free-spirited section to include safe options for individuals who are pregnant and breastfeeding that contain no functional ingredients and zero alcohol. Feel free to ask any of our bartenders for assistance in choosing the right drink for you!

Do you take reservations?

We are first come, first served.

Our booths are reserved for parties of four or more. We suggest arriving early (closer to 4pm) for better chances of seating. Please email events@goodnewssd.com if you are planning a party or wish to discuss hosting an event in our space. We love to collaborate!

Do you offer buyouts?

Yes, we offer three hour and six hour buyout packages for exclusive use of our space. Fill out our event submission form on our events page or email events@goodnewssd.com for more information.

Do you sell gift cards?

Do you offer the same menu for morning & evening services?

We have an entirely separate menu for our morning and evening services. Our morning menu is available from 8am-2pm and our evening menu 4-10/11pm.

Do you offer Free Wifi & is it okay to work-remotely on a computer?

Yes, we do! We have many regulars who love to work-remotely in our space. In fact, our booths are equipped with outlets. All we ask is that you be courteous of your stay, and make purchases accordingly.

Are kids & dogs allowed?

We are an 18+ establishment. While we adore your little ones & furry friends, we do not allow kids or pets inside the bar. Both are welcome in our outdoor seating section.

Do you have board games?

Omg yes we do! So many to choose from. Scrabble, Backgammon, Cribbage, Chess…just to name a few. We have card games too! Game nights are very popular & we encourage you to sip, stay and play!

Do you offer food?

We offer a rotating & seasonal variety of freshly baked pastries delivered daily from SPLIT Bakehouse and San Diego Baking Co. Vegan + GF options available.

What are your house rules?

We are an 18+ establishment. No outside food or drink. Service animals only. No vaping, alcohol or drugs. We appreciate you being respectful of the space so everyone can enjoy!
