Dear Friends,

I want to take a moment to personally reach out and address recent conversations surrounding Good News. I know some of what has circulated online may have caused questions or confusion, and I’d like to provide clarity directly.

First and foremost, while Good News is temporarily closed, our commitment to this community has not changed. We remain dedicated to providing a safe space rooted in connection and inclusion, and we look forward to welcoming you back through our doors very soon.

When I became involved with Good News in early 2024, it was because the mission spoke to me on a deeply personal level. I wanted to support women in business, the recovery space and the LGBTQ+ community. As someone who is sober and a proud member of San Diego’s LGBTQ+ community, creating spaces where people feel safe and supported has been central to my life’s work. I’ve witnessed the power of community in helping people come together to heal and thrive. Bringing that same spirit to Good News has been both an honor and a passion. After a year of leading the construction phase and design of this space, it truly holds a special place in my heart.

I also want to acknowledge that the way this recent transition was communicated may have led to frustration and uncertainty. For that, I sincerely apologize. My focus now is on moving forward with transparency and the same welcoming energy that has always defined Good News.

Thank you for your patience, trust, and continued support. I am excited for what lies ahead and look forward to continuing to serve you with the care and purpose you’ve come to expect from Good News.

With gratitude,

Ality Richardson
